Founded in London in 1989, French Sole was founded by Jane Winkworth. She is known as the ‘Queen of Ballet’ and was hailed by Vogue magazine as being solely responsible for turning the humble ballet pump into a true fashion classic. After a period as a trained restorer and painter of fine porcelain, Jane Winkworth launched French Sole after a chance meeting with a shoe salesman from a French shoe factory.
French Sole's award winning ballet flats and gorgeous sandals and boots are now the shoes of choice for some of the world's most stylish and glamorous women. It is still a family owned business dedicated to making comfortable, affordable and uniquely designed flat footwear for women.
