Minnetonka is a Native American word as well as a place in Minnesota. The Minnetonka moccasin has its roots in Native American heritage dating back to the mid 1940’s. The hand-crafted moccasins were sold in gift shops that lined the American highways. The Thunderbird Moc was launched in 1955 which features the legendary creature considered a supernatural bird of power and strength.
The company is a 4th generation family run business that is dedicated to preserving the unique hand craftsmanship of their products. As the company grew, so did the selection of footwear. Men can choose moccasins, boots and slippers. Women have the same choices. There is also a collection for children and infants.
